BIOGRAPHY

JAMES COCHRAN

Art became a serious part of my life with the gift of a small drawing board, a drawing book, ink and pens from my mother and then another gift  of a book depicting Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling from my youngest sister.  I was six years old.

I was fortunate in receiving formal instruction in drawing and color at The University of Texas (in Austin), extended visits with a wonderfully gifted artist in Darmstadt, Germany, and then sitting with fellow artists watching A. D. Greer painting his landscapes and roses.

Since 2010, I have moved from oils to watercolor.  In the company of the talented 620 Group and in the Stultz Studio, I have enjoyed being exposed to multiple techniques and many talented artists.
